Broccoli octopus

Having fun with veges makes meals really enjoyable. This fun food octopus is a great one to get the mini chefs involved with.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • broccoli (or cauliflower)
  • peas (could use corn)
  • corn and carrots for the seabed (use any veges to hand)
  • cauliflower stems for the face and fish (or carrots or cheese)

Method

Step 1 Cut a floret of broccoli for the head.

Step 2 Add a pea arm.

Step 3 And another.

Step 4 I gave her eight to be anatomically correct!

Step 5 I was going to add cauliflower to the seabed but it didn’t look great so I used the steamed stems for detail for the face.

Step 6 And added some little bits of broccoli as pupils.

Step 7 Use assorted veg to make up the seabed. I used corn and carrot.

Step 8 Then I finished up with some fish cut from carrot and cauliflower.
