Citrus giraffe

Super easy, super quick, seasonal and delicious, the Citrus giraffe is perfect for a snack or dessert.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • orange
  • mandarin (smaller ones work better)
  • dark grapes (or raisins/dates)

Method

Step 1 Slice the orange. Cut one of the larger sections towards the centre in half to make a semi-circle for the body (save the biggest piece for the neck).

Step 2 Cut two strips for the main legs.

Step 3 Add two shorter strips for the other legs.

Step 4 Use the longest piece to make the neck and a shorter piece for the tail.

Step 5 Cut a small piece of orange for the head.

Step 6 Then chop up and add some mandarin segments to make the markings.

Step 7 And use two full segments to make the ears.

Step 8 Chop the ends from two grapes to make the eyes and then use a little slice for the smile.

So simple the mini-chefs can probably make their own…
