This vs that: Apples vs pears
The saying ‘apples and oranges’, is used when it’s hard to compare two very different things. But when it comes to apples and pears, they aren’t that different at all!
Apples and pears are surprisingly alike. Both give you a good hit of fibre, which is great for digestion and keeping you full, and both provide natural sugars to satisfy your sweet cravings.
Apples have a bit more vitamin C, which is great for immunity, while pears are slightly lower in sugar. Neither one is ‘healthier’– they are simply two different fruits.
Apples are crunchy, refreshing and perfect for a quick snack on the go. Pears are softer and juicier, which makes them lovely in salads or paired with cheese and nuts – plus they are a little gentler on your teeth when eaten whole.

The verdict:
Both apples and pears have a place in a balanced diet. Mix them up and enjoy the benefits of both!
Tip: Wash thoroughly and enjoy them skin-on for more fibre.
