Med diet benefits more than skin deep

Previous studies established the Mediterranean diet reduces inflammation in the body, and now it’s been found a diet high in fruit and vegetables and rich in olive oil may reduce the severity of psoriasis symptoms.

A new study by French researchers, involving 35,000 volunteers, found the most severe psoriasis symptoms were reported by those who didn’t follow a Med diet. The monounsaturated fats in plant oils, and antioxidants in fruit and vege are thought to be why the Mediterranean diet is so good for psoriasis.
