
Previous suggestions that preschoolers will self-regulate to balance out their energy intake have been brought into question in a new study.
Researchers found that the portion size effect – where people eat more when presented with larger portions – was sustained even when larger portions were served over a period of five days. This knowledge could be useful in encouraging kids to eat more veges by serving up larger portions of them on their plates.
