
University of Otago researchers have discovered raw fruit and vegetables may be better for your mental health than cooked, canned and processed fruit and vegetables.
Their study, published in Frontiers in Psychology, surveyed more than 400 young adults from NZ and the US aged 18 to 25. Consumption of raw fruit and veges was found to predict lower levels of mental illness symptoms, such as depression, and improved levels of psychological wellbeing. These mental health processed equivalents.
