Christmas star

Christmas party season is in full swing so it’s great to have some simple, striking platters to share. A Christmas star is great for a gathering of any age group.

Recipe

Ingredients

  • bowl for the dip and popsicle sticks for the star
  • pesto (or other green/red dip, eg. hummus dyed with spinach juice)
  • green/red veg (tomatoes, celery, cucumber, capsicum red or green, green beans, broccoli, asparagus, fresh peas)

Method

Step 1 Arrange the bowl in the centre of a large plate or tray. Make a star shape around using popsicle sticks.

Step 2 Use cream cheese (or similar) to ‘glue’ the sticks into an upright position (should you wish – it’s not essential but does make for a spectacular plate).

Step 3 Fill the dip bowl.

Step 4 Add the sliced veges, celery.

Step 5 Halved cherry tomatoes.

Step 6 Chopped red capsicum.

Step 7 Slices of cucumber.

Step 8 Green beans.

Step 9 Add some parsley leaves for decoration.

Step 10 Some cocktail sticks for serving and that’s it!
