Niki’s green smoothie

Healthy Food Guide editor Niki has been enjoying experimenting with the Vitamix Total Nutrition Centre. Here’s the first of her Vitamix recipes – a delicious and healthy green smoothie.

Most of us don’t get enough veges in our life, so here’s a delicious and simple way to give your vege intake a boost! The Vitamix makes it really easy and saves waste.

Niki’s green smoothie

Makes approx. 750ml (serves 3)
Time to make: 2 minutes

2 cups spinach leaves
1 cup kale leaves and stems
1 banana
small knob ginger
1/2 small cucumber
1 cup pineapple pieces (including core)
1/2–1 cup water (or more if you like it thinner)
handful ice

Step 1  Add ingredients to the Vitamix, adding the water and ice last.

Step 2  Run the Vitamix on low to start, then increase power before turning on to full power for about 1 minute.
