Tahini bliss balls

Combining tahini with dried fruit and seeds, these high-fibre bliss balls are a healthier treat when you're after something sweet.

  • 1 cup dried fruit, such as raisins, currants, or chopped figs or apricots
  • ½ cup LSA or ground seed mix (see tips)
  • 4 tablespoons maple, agave or brown rice syrup
  • ½ cup nut butter, such as almond or peanut
  • ½ cup sesame seeds, plus 1/3 cup extra to coat
  • 4 tablespoons tahini

    1 Put all the ingredients except the 1/3 cup sesame seeds for coating in a food processor. Blend until fine and paste-like.

    2 Using lightly oiled hands, roll the mixture into walnut-size balls, then roll in the extra sesame seeds. Chill for at least 15 min to firm up. Store in a covered container in the fridge for up to 1 month.

    LSA is a mix of ground linseeds, sunflower seeds and almonds.

    Experiment with different coatings – try finely chopped almonds or pistachios; desiccated coconut; or cocoa powder. Wrap in cellophane or place in a box for a special gift.
