Roasted almond butter

Homemade almond butter is creamier than its store-bought variety and is a great addition to your smoothies or salad dressings.

    1 Heat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C /gas 6.

    2 Put the almonds on a baking tray and cook in the oven for 10 min until golden. Remove and leave to cool to room temperature.

    3 Once the almonds have cooled, put them in a food processor and blend for around 15 min until a smooth mixture forms, adding in the salt in the last few minutes. You really do need a food processor to make this – we don’t recommend using a blender as it could break.

    HFG tip

    It always takes longer than you think to reach that smooth texture, so be patient with it! Once ready, store in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 weeks.
