Vitamin C to be trialed as life-saver

Intravenous vitamin C infusions are being tested to see if they can be used as a treatment for sepsis, a life-threatening complication where the body’s response to infection damages its tissues and organs.

University of Otago researchers are teaming up with intensive care specialists to study whether people treated with vitamin C are more likely to survive and have a better recovery than those who aren’t.
