Berries and tea to ward off diabetes

Eating lots of antioxidant-rich food potentially lowers your risk of developing type 2 diabetes, new research shows.

Women who ate lots of antioxidant-rich foods such as fruit and vegetables, including blueberries, prunes and strawberries, and drank tea and moderate amounts of red wine, had a lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes, the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research study found.

The study collected data from 64,000 French women aged 40-65 as part of the long-term cohort study, E3N.
