Supersize that

Fast food serving sizes have increased significantly in New Zealand in the past five years, new research shows.

The University of Auckland uncovered a 5 per cent increase in serving size, a 14 per cent increase in energy and a 12 per cent increase in sodium per serve. The increased serving size may have also increased other nutrients not measured, such as sugar, the researchers say.

The good news is Asian fast food products actually decreased in serving size and energy.
