Six non-food strategies to reduce stress

Stressed and not sure how to reduce it? Try these simple strategies.

Somewhat surprisingly, it is those with most authority and power who suffer the least stress. They have the control.

Related to control, we are better able to handle a situation if we know more about it.

A problem shared is a problem halved.

Choose an activity you enjoy and do it.

Being active stimulates the release of ‘feel-good’ endorphins, helps relieve constipation, improves heart health, boosts the immune system and promotes a good sleeping
pattern.

There are many forms of stress management available, whether it’s going to yoga, church, meditation or a massage.

Like activity, choose the one which is right for you, not necessarily the one which has helped someone else.

While stress can rid us of good sleep, do all you can to give yourself the best chance of a decent night’s sleep.
