Marmite and cheddar scrolls

  • cooking spray oil
    • 2 cups self-raising flour
    • 60g reduced-fat spread
    • ¾ cup buttermilk
    • 2 tablespoons Marmite
    • 100g low-fat cheddar cheese, grated

    1   Preheat oven to 180ºC. Spray a baking tray with oil.

    2   Place flour in a large bowl. Use your fingertips to rub in the spread until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Add milk and use a round-bladed knife in a cutting motion to combine. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth.

    3   Roll dough out to a 20x30cm rectangle. Spread with Marmite and sprinkle with cheese. Roll dough up from the long side. Cut into 8 equal slices.

    4  Place scrolls on the prepared tray. Bake for about 10 minutes, or until golden.
