

Very berry vinegar

Ingredients
- a clean decorative bottle (optional) with a tight lid large enough for all the ingredients (about 350ml)
- 5 strawberries, chopped
- 250ml bottle white wine vinegar or ciderhard ciderX vinegar
- 1 sprig fresh rosemary
- 1 teaspoon sugar

Instructions
1 Sprinkle strawberries with sugar and microwave for 1 minute on high.
2 Pour out 1/4 cup vinegar into a smaller container and store it in the pantry. Pour the remaining vinegar into gift bottle (if using). Use a funnel to spoon strawberry mixture into the (gift) bottle of the remaining vinegar.
3 Insert rosemary sprig and close bottle lid. Attach instruction label to bottle. Wrap in cellophane with a ribbon bow.

Use this Very berry vinegar in salads, or brush it over meat before grilling, or add a splash to water as a drink. Merry Christmas!
Variations
Blueberries and raspberries make excellent vinegars, too.
HFG tip
If you choose to use the original vinegar bottle, you may need to remove any plastic stopper underneath the cap before you put in the berries.
