Spaghetti marinaraReviewed by our expert panel
(at time of publication)
- 350g (about ½ packet) dried spaghetti
- 600g (about 1 packet) frozen marinara mix
- 1 tablespoon, olive oil
- 1 jar garlic and onion tomato pasta sauce (I used Five Brothers brand)
- ⅓ cup chopped flat-leaf parsley
1 Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling water, following packet directions, or until just tender. Drain and return to the pan.
2 Heat the oil in a large non-stick frying pan over high heat. Add one third of the seafood and cook, stirring, for about 1 minute. Transfer to a colander. Reheat pan and repeat in 2 more batches with remaining seafood.
3 Place tomato sauce in the pan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Add drained seafood and cook, uncovered, for about 2–3 minutes, or until just tender. Add the pasta to the sauce and mix well.
Try the marinara sauce with bucatini, which are spaghetti with hollow centres that trap the sauce.
