Sweet and sour sauce

A vegetarian favourite, so quick and easy, made in under 10 minutes. This flavoursome sweet and sour sauce recipe uses just five ingredients

  • ½ cup fruit juice
    • 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
    • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
    • 1 ½ tablespoons white vinegar
    • 1 ½ tablespoons tomato sauce
    • 1 tablespoon cornflour

    1 Combine fruit juice, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar and tomato sauce in a saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer. Cook for 5 minutes, then add cornflour dissolved in a little hot water. Stir until it thickens, to make enough sauce for a stir-fry for four.
